EMG Testing

Electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies measure the electrical activity of muscles and how well nerves carry signals. They are how we turn symptoms like numbness or weakness into a specific diagnosis.

What the Test Is Like

A nerve conduction study delivers small electrical pulses along a nerve, and the EMG portion uses a fine needle electrode to record muscle activity. Testing typically takes 30 to 60 minutes and is performed on site.
