Neurology

Neurology focuses on conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. Patients often seek a neurological evaluation for symptoms such as numbness, tingling, radiating pain, muscle weakness, or recurring headaches that may point to an underlying nerve issue. At Zeren Health, neurological care fits within a coordinated approach to diagnosing and managing nerve-related conditions alongside chiropractic and orthopedic treatment.

Meet the Specialist

Dr. Aric Hausknecht, MD, is double board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Academy of Pain Management. He earned his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and trained in neurology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, with a focus on pain management, rehabilitation medicine, and electrodiagnostic testing.

How Nerve Conditions Are Evaluated

  • Electromyography (EMG) Testing — electrodiagnostic testing used to pinpoint nerve and muscle injuries and help identify the source of symptoms.
  • Digital X-Ray Imaging — on-site imaging that helps rule out structural causes of nerve compression or irritation.

Conditions Commonly Addressed

  • Radiculopathy — nerve irritation originating in the spine that causes pain, numbness, or weakness along a nerve pathway.
  • Peripheral Neuropathy — nerve damage that affects sensation in the hands or feet.
  • Headaches and Migraines — recurring head pain that may have a neurological component.
